A UK standing desk company, based in Peterborough
Desko sells electric height adjustable standing desks and frames to homes and offices across the UK. We hold stock in Peterborough, we ship it ourselves, and within 80 miles our own crew delivers and builds it.
Where the desks come from
Our frames are built by the same manufacturer that supplies several better-known European desk brands. That is not a secret worth keeping: the mechanism inside a good standing desk is a commodity, and what varies between sellers is the price, the terms and whether anyone answers the phone.
What we control is the specification we order — dual motors on the V2 and V3, anti-collision as standard on every frame, a touchscreen keypad with memory presets — and what we promise afterwards: five years on the frame, sixty days to change your mind, and a straight answer on the phone when something goes wrong.
How we price
One price, all the time. No countdown timers, no “was £499” on a desk that never sold at £499. A large part of this market runs on inflated list prices, and it makes it almost impossible for a buyer to tell what anything is worth.
Complete desks run £319 to £529 and frames £269 to £399, VAT included, with free next-day delivery. If you find the same specification cheaper, tell us — there is a price-match link on every product page.
How we test
Every figure quoted on this site comes from the manufacturer's specification for the frame we actually order, and we check the ones customers care about most on desks from our own stock:
- Load: the dynamic rating is the weight the desk will lift, not just hold — 100 kg on the V1, 120 kg on the V2, 140 kg on the V3.
- Noise: under 50 dB, measured at seated head height about a metre from the frame while it travels.
- Speed: 30–35 mm/s depending on the frame, measured over a full travel of the columns.
- Anti-collision: the desk meets an obstruction on the way up and down and backs off. It reduces damage; it is not a substitute for looking.
Where we do not have a measurement of our own, we say so rather than repeating a number we cannot stand behind.
The people
Giedrius Zdramys
Director, Gieto Group Ltd (Desko)
I run Desko from our warehouse in Peterborough. We import our frames from the same factory that supplies several better-known European desk brands, and I decided early that we would compete on price and straight answers rather than on badge or a permanent fake sale. I have built, loaded and lived with every frame we sell — the V1, V2 and V3 — at both sitting and standing heights, in every finish we stock. Most of what is in these guides came from questions customers actually asked me on the phone: how high should it be, will it wobble, do I need three stages, which size fits my room. Where I have measured something myself I say so, and where I am relying on the manufacturer's specification I say that too. If you think something here is wrong, tell me and I will correct it.
